Bedrock Clean Energy was founded by renewable energy experts with over 35 years of combined experience developing utility-scale wind farms and solar power plants across the United States.
Our founders have successfully permitted and financed nearly 6,000 megawatts of clean energy projects in 10 different states. This depth of expertise allows us to efficiently guide renewable energy projects from initial site selection through construction and operation.
Meet the Founders
Jon Koehn
Jon is a co-founder and the CEO of Bedrock Clean Energy. He has over 20 years of experience in renewable energy development and has managed over 6 GW of now-operating projects within the United States.
Jon’s experience includes the full project development cycle from greenfield siting to operations, as well as tax equity financing and M&A transactions. Prior to Bedrock, he managed grid-scale renewable development in the Western US & Canada for ENGIE North America.
Before ENGIE, Jon held leadership roles with Infinity Renewables and Clipper Windpower Development. He holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a B.A. from Colgate University.
Brian Wixon
Brian Wixon, co-founder and COO of Bedrock, has vast experience in real estate, including 15 years of land and title work in the renewable energy industry. Brian was the Director of Land Acquisition for ENGIE for four years, where he led a team of 15+ staff and contract real estate professionals responsible for securing land for wind, solar, and BESS projects across the U.S. He managed all land-related activities from initial landowner outreach to ensuring all real estate title and documentation was sufficient for project finance and insurability.
Prior to ENGIE he was with Infinity Renewables. Following ENGIE he joined a development start-up, Blue Star Energy, and is now looking to take on leadership of a start-up of his own. Before entering the renewable space, Brian’s experience includes 14 years as a real estate professional in Minnesota and eight years of owning and managing four separate restaurant and banquet facilities with 75+ employees.
Brian takes great pride in his Midwestern upbringing and roots and has worked on the family farm and alongside other farmers most of his life, greatly enhancing his capacity to build relationships with, and advocate and deliver for the landowners he works with.
